Laurel School of Princeton Administration
Gordon F. Sherman, Ph.D., is Executive Director of The Laurel School of Princeton. Before starting The Laurel School, and joining Newgrange in 2000, he was Director of the Dyslexia Research Laboratory at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and a faculty member in neurology (neuroscience) at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Sherman received his doctorate in developmental psychobiology from the University of Connecticut. He is a former president and current board member of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and a recipient of two of its most prestigious honors, the Samuel T. Orton Award and the Norman Geschwind Memorial Lecture Award. He also was inducted into IDA’s Sylvia O. Richardson Hall of Honor.
Dr. Sherman was appointed to the New Jersey Governor’s Reading Disabilities task force. Dr. Sherman speaks nationally and internationally to parents, teachers, and scientists about cerebrodiversity, learning differences, brain development, and the future.
Director of Education
Dee Rosenberg, Director of Education, taught elementary and high school special education students for over twenty years before starting Laurel School of Princeton and joining Newgrange in 2001. She is a certified Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant. She is also a Wilson Reading Teacher and Teacher Trainer. She has extensive experience as a practitioner and trainer withProject Read, Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling, and Developing Metacognitive Skills. Dee is the past President of the New Jersey Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (2012). Dee speaks nationally and internationally to teachers and parents about strategies to encourage achievement and strengths of dyslexic students.
Dee is responsible for ensuring instructional quality and effectiveness. She supervises the teaching staff and all related activities, including assessments and data collection.
